'Feral' is a term used to describe a being that does not share almost any human characteristics, traits associated with full furry beings.

Biology and sapience[edit]

Ferals will most commonly behave and look like the Wild animals they are associated with in nature. The human ability of grasping is normally limited or impossible due to their normal animal appendage or organ abilities (pincers, prehensile tails, tongues).

The main trait that separates them from their Wild versions is the ability for intelligent, human-like reasoning, normally via speech expressed with their vocal apparatus, or internalized thoughts.[1]

In short, Wild beings are in general "sentient", i.e. aware, responsive/conscious of sense impressions and finely sensitive in perception or feeling, while most Ferals are "sapient", i.e. having or possessing the ability to think and to reason.

Media[edit]

Examples of Feral characters in mainstream media can be found in movies like The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, All Dogs Go to Heaven, The Secret of N.I.M.H., The Land Before Time series, and Balto.
