The principal Yama is called Dharamaraja or Yamaraja, that is, the ruler of Yamapuri or the lord of Moral laws. Who awards punishment according to a human's deeds recorded by his two angels--Chitr (or Chit, conscious), and Gupt (or Gupta, unconscious). He is also called lord of death.
