A Taming Mat is a lightweight pad, common among Field Tamers. Its purpose is to provide padding, primarily for creating a more comfortable Taming or sleeping area.
In its simplest form, a Taming Mat consists of a foam-like material that is about 1 centimeter thick.
Mats vary in thickness, composition, surface texture, "stickiness" or grip, and weight, as well as price with dimensions usually somewhere between 200cm by 74cm to 210cm by 180cm.
