Elysians are humble, yet often open girls. Elysians follow a creed to 'protect life while it lives, and to enjoy life while it lasts'. To an Elysian, one's body is a gift to be cherished, and so find nothing inherently evil or immoral with nudity or expressing one's feelings through sex. They often wear little to nothing at all, and both take pride in their appearance, and encourage others to feel confident with themselves as well.

Life is short and complicated, and nobody knows what to do about it, Stop worrying so much whether you’ll make it into the finals; Just take it easy. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda (i.e. beer) and whether you roll strikes or gutters, do your best to be true to yourself and others – that is to say, abide.

It is stressed that life should not be spent trying to gain status or material goods, but should be enjoyed for its own sake. One should avoid suffering by avoiding unnecessary anxiety and adopting a more relaxed attitude towards life. Simple pleasures are the best ones

Elysians put a high value on independent; because a bedrock of independence is a peace of mind. Being immune to peer pressure and social expectations, concerns about self-worth and status.

The Elysian approach to death is that it's just a damn shame that we have to die.

Found in an innate pragmatism and anti-idealism. The Elysian approach is a rational and skeptic approach, which sees any kind of idealism as suspicious. As someone put it, “The Elysian does not trust big ideas.” They also contend that idealism is very instinctive, which is why it is so hard to cultivate a healthy skepticism.

The aim of Elysians is to reignite a worldview and a lifestyle that rejects the worst excesses of civilization. Elysians feel civilization is an inherently unnatural mode of living for human beings. Humans supposedly are genetically designed to “take it easy” and “pick fruit on a tropical African savannah, not live in cities and toil away in cubicles.” Elysians appreciate many amazing perks brought by civilization, such as higher standard of living or longer life.

They don’t want to go back to hunter-gatherer times, and don’t believe that is even possible. However, despite its many gifts, civilization causes humans to be at odds with their nature, even though a natural and simple life is more easily attainable than modern culture tends to suggest. Civilization brings with it status anxiety and demands that everyone struggle and work as hard as possible, not because they want to or enjoy it, or even need to survive. Civilization has essentially co-opted the human over-sensitivity to peer-pressure to further its own objectives.

As ancient philosophers observed (beginning with Lao Tzu and Epicurus when Chinese and Greek civilization were first getting off the ground), man is not rich due to what he has, but what he doesn’t need. So-called successful people may be richer in wealth or status, but these can be fickle and arbitrary things, while at the same time they are poor in timeless values like peace of mind and independent control over their life. Wealth or status only increases appetite for more of the same, as does the fear of losing it. This generates constant pressure, insatiable hunger and restlessness.

Characteristics of Elysians[edit]

Acceptance and a Democratic World View[edit]

Elysians accept themselves and others as they are. They tend to lack inhibition and are able to enjoy themselves and their lives free of guilt. Not only do Elysians fully accept themselves, they also embrace other people for who they are. Other individuals are treated the same regardless of background, current status, or other socio-economic and cultural factors.

Peak Experiences[edit]

Elysians have frequent peak experiences. A peak experience involves: "Feelings of limitless horizons opening up to the vision, the feeling of being simultaneously more powerful and also more helpless than one ever was before, the feeling of ecstasy and wonder and awe, the loss of placement in time and space with, finally, the conviction that something extremely important and valuable had happened, so that the subject was to some extent transformed and strengthened even in his daily life by such experiences."

In other words, peak experiences are moments of transcendence in which a person emerges feeling changed and transformed.

Realistic[edit]

Another major characteristic of Elysians is a sense of realism. Rather than being fearful of things that are different or unknown, the Elysian is able to view life as it unfolds both logically and rationally.

Problem-Centered[edit]

Elysians are often motivated by a strong sense of personal ethics and responsibility. They enjoy applying their problem-solving skills to real-world situations, and they like helping other people improve their own lives.

Autonomous[edit]

Elysians also tend to be very independent; They don't conform to other people's ideas of happiness or contentment. This original perspective allows the individual to live in the moment and appreciate the beauty of each experience.

Enjoy Solitude and Privacy[edit]

Elysians value their privacy and enjoy solitude. While they also love the company of others, taking time to themselves is essential for their personal discovery and cultivating their individual potential.

Philosophical Sense of Humor[edit]

Elysians generally have a thoughtful sense of humor. They're able to enjoy the humor in situations and laugh at themselves, but they don't ridicule or joke at the expense of another person's feelings.

Spontaneous[edit]

Another characteristic of Elysians is a tendency to be open, unconventional, and spontaneous. While these WoMai are able to follow generally accepted social expectations, they don't feel confined by these norms in their thoughts or behaviors.

Fully Enjoy the Journey, Not Just the Destination[edit]

While Elysians have concrete goals, they don't see things as simply a means to an end. The journey toward achieving a goal is just as important and enjoyable as actually accomplishing the goal.
